    Director of Market Management Eastern Europe, Expedia® Lodging Partner Services

    Wolfgang Pagl has 19 years of experience in the tourism industry, in hotel operations, business development and online distribution. He is currently Marketing Manager at Expedia Inc. for Eastern Europe. The main objective of his team is to expand the hotel portfolio and to offer partners advice to maximize their profit through Expedia brands.


    Paul Rosenberg joined the development division of Europe on April 29, 2013 as International Hotel Development Director. Since then, he has been responsible for the development of all Marriott International brands in Europe. Prior to joining Marriott International and moving to Zurich (Switzerland), he was Senior Development Manager in the Middle East for Hilton Worldwide. During this period, he was part of the Hilton Worldwide expansion team and its brands in the Middle East, areas of North Africa and the Indian Ocean. Paul Rosenberg graduated in 2008 from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland.


    Takuya Aoyama is Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Hyatt International and is responsible for expanding the portfolio of Hyatt brands in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining Hyatt in 2008, he spent six years in Tokyo as Assistant Vice President Purchasing & Development Japan, Korea and Micronesia at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Takuya began working in the hotel industry in the early 1990s and held positions in major companies such as Saison Group, Holiday Inn Worldwide and Andersen, focusing on projects in the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe.


    Jakub oversees STR’s business development in the Central and Eastern European markets. Based in London, he frequently visits the region to meet with hotel operators and spread awareness of STR’s benchmarking programme. Jakub previously worked in revenue management for various properties in London, including Intercontinental Hotels Group and Hilton. He holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration from City University of Seattle and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from the University of Westminster. Jakub regularly attends and presents at STR client events as well as industry conferences.

  • Miguel Martins
    Development Director for Poland, InterContinental Hotels Group

    Miguel is responsible for developing IHG’s brands in Poland for both franchised and managed hotels. Miguel has extensive experience in hotel development and has been involved in over 30 projects in Europe. He also has over nine years of experience working on the Holiday Inn Express brand in Portugal, Northern Spain and Poland. Prior to joining IHG, Miguel created the Polish Hotel Company which was responsible for the development of the Holiday Inn Express brand in Poland.  Miguel oversaw Holiday Inn Express Warsaw Airport from its conceptual design, financing, coordination with IHG and construction surveying, right through to its pre-opening and management.

    Associate Director Investment & Letting, Christie & Co

    Simon is based in our Vienna office and is responsible for working on hotel deals in Austria and CEE. In his role he is supporting hotel owners and investors and is at the same time responsible for establishing relationships with our key clients.
    Prior to joining Christie & Co in October 2014, he gained experience as Cluster Sales Manager Corporate at Austria’s largest hotel, the Hilton Vienna. Simon started his sales career as Sales Manager at Austria Trend Hotel & Resorts in Vienna.
    Simon holds a BA degree in Tourism Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna. His educational career includes various international stays in countries such as Spain, Chile, UK, Norway, Romania and many others. In addition, he is enrolled at Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) since October 2016, where he is in the process of earning a Master degree in “Real Estate Management und Valuation”


    Frédéric Le Fichoux is a partner at Cushman & Wakefield. He is leading the hotel transactions’ teams in Continental Europe and supporting the hospitality team in Central & Eastern Europe. With over 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Fred has an extensive knowledge of the hotel real estate sector and is a recognized expert in the European market. Since 2007 he has focused in managing and growing the hospitality team for the CEE region at Cushman and Wakefield. More recently and since 2015, he is in charge of hotel transaction advisory and brokerage services, supporting buyers and sellers across the entire Continental European region. Fred has advised on the acquisition and disposal of over EUR 1.5 billion of hotel transactions in Europe, over the past years. He holds a MBA in Hospitality Management from Cornell University and ESSEC Business School. He is also Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2010.

  • Brigita Aleksandraviciute
    Development Director, Apex Alliance Hotel Management

    Brigita has a vast experience in the hospitality area and is currently working as a Development Director at Apex Alliance Hotel Management. She is responsible for the further development of the company in Central and Eastern Europe, finding and maintaining the contacts with research companies, architects, bank representatives, real estate agencies, developers, investors as well as International hotel chains and preparing the business plans and estimations for the potential hotel management agreements. In the past she worked as Accorhotels Development Projects Manager for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia for Orbis Hotel Group. Brigita finished Swiss Hotel Management School, International Business School, Vilnius University and Economy Faculty, Vilnius University.

    Director for Central and Southern Europe at the Israel Ministry of Tourism

    Ami has been working at the Israel Ministry of Tourism in the past 8 years, first as a Cadet and later as Consul and Director for Canada in Toronto. Upon his return from Canada, he was nominated as the Marketing Advisor to the Director General at IMOT. As the Director for central and Southern Europe, He has been leading a successful new approach of the Ministry towards the Romanian tourism market, by focusing on new target audiences and promoting Israel as a City Break destination. He holds a Master Degree in Business Management and Marketing, with experience in advertising and filmmaking.

  • Alexandru Sorin Ionescu
    Managing Partner, Fivestar Hospitality

    Graduate of the “Politehnica” University Bucharest – Engineering Sciences German Department and the German College, Goethe in Bucharest, Alexandru continued his higher education with the Royal Foundation of Hospitality Management post-graduate diploma signed in 2007 by Her Royal Highness The Princess Margarita of Romania and the General Director of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL). His career began in 1998 experiencing 2 multinational strategy consulting companies: Cap Gemini and Roland Berger Strategy Consulting. 2003 offered him the opportunities to follow his dream on the entrepreneurship path. Along with the hotel tourism and leisure experience that he started to build in 2004, Alexandru is still grateful to his prior industry experiences that offer him the much needed lateral thinking and problem solving skills. Methodological competencies in fields like hotel concept development, feasibility, asset management, M&A help him to always create and coordinate services adapted to the needs of each individual client. He speaks fluently English and German. Alexandru has been invited ever since 2014 to teach the Financial Management course as a Lecturer of the American Hotel Academy in Brasov. He has recently launched the hotelsforsale.ro project to stimulate the local hotel transactions market.

    EMEA Expansion Director, Barcelo Hotels & Resorts

    Eduard de Gispert joined Barceló Hotels & Resorts 17 years ago, and currently manages the expansion & development activities for the EMEA division at BARCELO HOTELS & RESORTS. Eduard features more than 20 years working at the hotel sector. He started his career at HOTELES HESPERIA in Barcelona as the Managing Director’s deputy being the controller and also studying new expansion projects. Then he joined to BARCELÓ HOTELS & RESORTS with same position reporting to the City Hotels Division’s Managing Director, and with special dedication to the expansion activities. At that time, Barceló Group only featured 7 city hotels overall. In 2006 he was appointed EMEA Expansion Director for the city hotels and later on for holiday hotels as well, position that he currently manages. Nowadays the City Hotels Division has more than 50 hotels. Furthermore, Eduard has been strategic consultant at DELOITTE in BARCELONA. Eduard has a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineer by the Telecommunications University from UPC Barcelona, and completed his postgraduate in 1998 at the MBA IESE in Barcelona.

    Markus is the new General Manager of the 2 Rezidor properties, the Radisson Blu and the newly opened Park Inn by Radisson in Bucharest with a total of over 700 four & five star hotel rooms and apartments. He has 25 years of international experience as a hotel executive in ten countries across EMEA and APAC, the vast majority with Hilton Worldwide. Markus is Swiss and a graduate from the Lausanne Hotel School (EHL) in Switzerland.

  • Dilek SEZER
    Development Director, Orbis / AccorHotels

    Dilek is the current Director of Development for Orbis/ Accorhotels in the South Eastern Europe region. Dilek who fell in love with hospitality during her engineering studies started her hospitality career with Accor in 1988 in Turkey and than moved to the UK where she held a large number of management positions including Multi-site General Manager and Area General Manager for Ibis and ibis budget UK, both in London and the wider UK regions; her most recent position in the UK was Operations Project Manager where she successfully lead the transfer of 22 hotels to different new owners. Dilek, who is a graduate of IHMP- International Hotel Management Program by Accor Academy – ESSEC – Cornell has passionately been involved in various projects over the years; the Finance & F&B Finance Module Trainer of ADP, Quality Committee, Planet 21 or Fastcom Relay Group are just a few to mention. Dilek in her spare time enjoys reading, flying, mentoring young talent, raising funds for charity, discovering different cuisines, gardening and always looking learning something new!. Dilek is a British citizen and speaks fluent English and Turkish.
