    Dr Ray F. Iunius is the author of various academic and professional articles published by journals in the management of services, technology, and innovation. He is also the author of a number of books such as « Industrie de l’accueil », « Hôtellerie de Luxe », « La gestion des spas », “Un Hôtel, un modèle ?” in de Boeck editions and co-author of the “Lausanne Report on the future of Hospitality Industry.” He is the founder of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (EHLITE), the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (INTEHL), the Students Business Projects (SBP), the EHLITE magazine, and the Chair of Innovation Paul Dubrule. Ray earns a BSc, MS and PhD in Technical Sciences from the University of Transylvania Brasov and an MBA and PhD from the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) of the Lausanne University. He is currently Director of Business Development at Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, an Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and Swiss Hotel Association company.

    Wolfgang Pagl has 19 years of experience in the tourism industry, in hotel operations, business development and online distribution. He is currently Marketing Manager at Expedia Inc. for Eastern Europe. The main objective of his team is to expand the hotel portfolio and to offer partners advice to maximize their profit through Expedia brands.


    Paul Rosenberg joined the development division of Europe on April 29, 2013 as International Hotel Development Director. Since then, he has been responsible for the development of all Marriott International brands in Europe. Prior to joining Marriott International and moving to Zurich (Switzerland), he was Senior Development Manager in the Middle East for Hilton Worldwide. During this period, he was part of the Hilton Worldwide expansion team and its brands in the Middle East, areas of North Africa and the Indian Ocean. Paul Rosenberg graduated in 2008 from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland.


    Takuya Aoyama is Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Hyatt International and is responsible for expanding the portfolio of Hyatt brands in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining Hyatt in 2008, he spent six years in Tokyo as Assistant Vice President Purchasing & Development Japan, Korea and Micronesia at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Takuya began working in the hotel industry in the early 1990s and held positions in major companies such as Saison Group, Holiday Inn Worldwide and Andersen, focusing on projects in the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe.

    Emeline is the Southeast Europe Development Manager of Europe for Hotel Orbis, the strategic partner of AccorHotels in the region, the world leader in lifestyle and travel as well as a digital innovator, covering all segments of brands ranging from economic to business luxury. With nearly 10 years of experience, Emeline has worked for AccorHotels in different countries. She began her career in operations, where she was General Manager of Ibis London Stratford Hotel and was later promoted to Revenue Management where she held various positions in the UK and the Czech Republic. See is currently working at the headquarters in Bucharest and is responsible for identifying development opportunities in Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Balkan countries as well as establishing partnerships for opening new properties under the AccorHotels brands (upscale, midscale and economy segments) as Pullman , Mercure, Novotel, ibis or ibis Styles.


    Jakub oversees STR’s business development in the Central and Eastern European markets. Based in London, he frequently visits the region to meet with hotel operators and spread awareness of STR’s benchmarking programme. Jakub previously worked in revenue management for various properties in London, including Intercontinental Hotels Group and Hilton. He holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration from City University of Seattle and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from the University of Westminster. Jakub regularly attends and presents at STR client events as well as industry conferences.

  • Miguel Martins
    Development Director for Poland, InterContinental Hotels Group

    Miguel is responsible for developing IHG’s brands in Poland for both franchised and managed hotels. Miguel has extensive experience in hotel development and has been involved in over 30 projects in Europe. He also has over nine years of experience working on the Holiday Inn Express brand in Portugal, Northern Spain and Poland. Prior to joining IHG, Miguel created the Polish Hotel Company which was responsible for the development of the Holiday Inn Express brand in Poland.  Miguel oversaw Holiday Inn Express Warsaw Airport from its conceptual design, financing, coordination with IHG and construction surveying, right through to its pre-opening and management.

    Simon is based in our Vienna office and is responsible for working on hotel deals in Austria and CEE. In his role he is supporting hotel owners and investors and is at the same time responsible for establishing relationships with our key clients.
    Prior to joining Christie & Co in October 2014, he gained experience as Cluster Sales Manager Corporate at Austria’s largest hotel, the Hilton Vienna. Simon started his sales career as Sales Manager at Austria Trend Hotel & Resorts in Vienna.
    Simon holds a BA degree in Tourism Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna. His educational career includes various international stays in countries such as Spain, Chile, UK, Norway, Romania and many others. In addition, he is enrolled at Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien) since October 2016, where he is in the process of earning a Master degree in “Real Estate Management und Valuation”


    Frédéric Le Fichoux is a partner at Cushman & Wakefield. He is leading the hotel transactions’ teams in Continental Europe and supporting the hospitality team in Central & Eastern Europe. With over 19 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Fred has an extensive knowledge of the hotel real estate sector and is a recognized expert in the European market. Since 2007 he has focused in managing and growing the hospitality team for the CEE region at Cushman and Wakefield. More recently and since 2015, he is in charge of hotel transaction advisory and brokerage services, supporting buyers and sellers across the entire Continental European region. Fred has advised on the acquisition and disposal of over EUR 1.5 billion of hotel transactions in Europe, over the past years. He holds a MBA in Hospitality Management from Cornell University and ESSEC Business School. He is also Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2010.

    Brigita has a vast experience in the hospitality area and is currently working as a Development Director at Apex Alliance Hotel Management. She is responsible for the further development of the company in Central and Eastern Europe, finding and maintaining the contacts with research companies, architects, bank representatives, real estate agencies, developers, investors as well as International hotel chains and preparing the business plans and estimations for the potential hotel management agreements. In the past she worked as Accorhotels Development Projects Manager for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia for Orbis Hotel Group. Brigita finished Swiss Hotel Management School, International Business School, Vilnius University and Economy Faculty, Vilnius University.

    Senior Vice President Hotel Development at Corinthia Hotels

    As a member of the founding and owning family, Paul has spent his full career with Corinthia Hotels, joining the company straight from University in 1990. He rose through the ranks being promoted within a relatively short time to Group Marketing Manager, a position which he held for a 5-year period in the early 1990s. In the mid 1990s, Paul undertook intensive operations exposure which culminated with a move to Turkey where he was Regional Director for Operations and Development overseeing 5 Corinthia branded hotels, representing the Company on a daily basis in the relationships with the various Turkish Hotel Owners, while at the same time seeking to expand the brand in and around Turkey. In 1998, he returned back to Malta where he took a full time Development role in the capacity of Director of Business Development, spearheading the Company's expansion drive in EMEA. In late 2006, he became Vice President Development and then, in 2010, Senior Vice President Development, responsible for world-wide development for the Corinthia brand. Paul also sits on a number of Corinthia related boards.

    Ami has been working at the Israel Ministry of Tourism in the past 8 years, first as a Cadet and later as Consul and Director for Canada in Toronto. Upon his return from Canada, he was nominated as the Marketing Advisor to the Director General at IMOT. As the Director for central and Southern Europe, He has been leading a successful new approach of the Ministry towards the Romanian tourism market, by focusing on new target audiences and promoting Israel as a City Break destination. He holds a Master Degree in Business Management and Marketing, with experience in advertising and filmmaking.
